365 in 2011 - I made it!

Oh Darling 365

Sunday: quick visit to the Cupcakery
Sunday
Red velvet at The Cupcakery in Petone. The cupcake was good but the cafe was not.

Monday: On the Waterfront
Monday
The day I decided to stop worrying and take a break over the holidays.

Tuesday: Christmas Tree lights
Tuesday
My darling husband and I took a walk down to the Waitangi Park tree of lights. We lounged on the beanbags underneath and tried to ignore the screaming children. It was almost romantic.

Wednesday: Annual trip to the Kirks Christmas Store
Wednesday
I did all of my christmas shopping and went on the annual Mulligan family trip to the Kirkcaldie and Stains Christmas store.

Thursday: Oranges in Wellington
Thursday
A mildly hungover day. I wandered Wellington and watched The Wire.

Friday: Crushed Candy Canes
Friday
I spent a lot of time in the kitchen.

Saturday: Christmas Eve fire alarm
Saturday
Christmas Eve surprise! Fire alarm at the Wondapartment. Four fire trucks were there within two minutes. But there was no fire.

Sunday: Christmas Day with my sisters
Sunday
Christmas day was spent with the family, in the sun and in the shade, playing croquet and pétanque and Trivial Pursuits, drinking and laughing. So good.

Monday: The Boys on Boxing Day
Monday
Boxing day was spent with extended family, in the sun and in the shade, playing croquet and Trivial Pursuits, drinking and laughing. Also good.

Tuesday: the day after Boxing Day. Book day!
Tuesday
The day after Boxing day is the day I start in on the books I get for Christmas.

Wednesday: so so hot
Wednesday
Nothing felt right on Wednesday.

Thursday: Wedding Guest Dress
Thursday
I have four weddings to go to in 2012. I finally found the perfect dress for all of them.

Friday: ALL OF THE ONIONS
Friday
Caramelising onions for an amazing tart. I'm obsessed with it at the moment and a bbq that evening was the perfect excuse to make it.

Saturday: Cider for NYE
Saturday
Wellington may have decided that summer is over but I ignored that and drank cider anyway.

Glad I wasn't the only one who found The Cupcakery somewhat disappointing as a cafe. Going to try Sweet Pea when it reopens in a few days.

  2. It seemed like they were trying to do too much in too small a venue. And yes! We are also looking forward to trying Sweet Pea.
