Week Fifty-Three

The Week in Photographs

Sunday: Mount Ngauruhoe
Sunday
Craig and I drove the 658km from Wellington to Auckland.
Mount Ngauruhoe emerging from the clouds.

Monday: Opulent Bendon Lingerie Dressingroom
Monday
Spending vouchers in Bendon, the faux opulence of their dressing rooms always amuse me.
This one was like a Harem.

Tuesday: Rex!
Tuesday
Craig's brother drove us down to Hamilton so we could pick up the new car.
It is very very red.

Wednesday: Goat Island
Wednesday
An afternoon of sun and snorkelling at Goat Island.

Thursday: Opposite the City
Thursday
Wine and BBQ with friends then parking across the harbour from the SkyTower to watch the fireworks and see in 2010 with Sir C. The first really good New Years Eve I've had in years.

Week Fifty-Two

365 in 2009!

Ostensibly the final week of 2009 as darling little 2010 begins on a Friday.

Sunday: Finally saw Ghostbusters
Sunday
I finally finally saw Ghostbusters. And it was as funny as I'd hoped it would be.
And I have a retroactive crush on Bill Murray.

Monday: Cupcake decorations from Kat
Monday
Confusion with a parcel from the UK. My darling Kat had posted it just after my birthday but the Royal Mail held on to it for so damn long that, combined with her packing material of tinsel and cupcake tree decorations, I thought it was a Christmas present and felt a right twat for not getting anything over to Scotland for her.
But no, it was simply a belated (grr, Royal Mail) birthday gift.

Tuesday: Empty Train
Tuesday
As Craig was a Gentleman-of-Leisure this week I had to go back to public transport and take the train in to work every morning. This, combined with the change of address, meant that I got to take a completely new (ancient & rickety) train, from a completely new station. And it was pretty much empty every single morning.

Wednesday: Laden
Wednesday
Last minute Christmas shopping rush, plus work, equals no time to take a photo so the lens cap ends up in the shot.

Thursday: Midday!
Thursday
Work done, desk cleared, phones diverted, instructions left for the cleaners, and we were out of the office by 1pm on Christmas Eve.

Friday: Antique silver at Christmas Dinner
Friday
Antique silver for Christmas Day.

BTW, after the infamous year of the pink tool kit? this year Craig bought me an external hard drive.
Admittedly, it is the Mac Time Capsule one I've had my eye on for months but it is still very utilitarian.
I gave him half a plane ride (a voucher for skydiving!).

Saturday: Au Revoir Gingerbread House
Saturday
Extended family came around to Trinity for a Boxing Day BBQ slash leftovers feast. When it came time for dessert the children fell upon my gingerbread house and it was gone within minutes.
My Japanese Christmas Cake and Summer Berry Trifle also disappeared rapidly.
I seem to specialise in quick, easy, seasonal desserts.

NOT a scowl
The first time this year I needed sunglasses everytime I stepped outdoors. From 6:45am to 6:45pm.

Week Fifty-One

365 in 2009!

Sunday: Candy Cane Fudge Slice
Sunday
On Saturday night my baby sister came around for the baking of Christmas Treats and the watching of Christmas Movies.
The Candy Cane Fudge was delicious.

Monday: Quite an Interesting book
Monday
I'm reading quite an interesting book!

Tuesday: Library
Tuesday
Stopping by the Library on the way home from work.

Wednesday: Creme Brulee Drink in the Sun
Wednesday
The weather was beautiful. I sat in the sun and drank a ridiculous creme brulee coffee chiller drink.

Thursday: Christmas at Kirkcaldie and Stains
Thursday
In a christmas tradition, Craig and I had lunch and went to the Kirkcaldie and Stains Christmas Store to choose our 2009 decorations.

Friday: After work drinks
Friday
It stays light so late now. This was post office christmas drinks, waiting for my ride home.

Saturday: New Work Jacket
Saturday
In the middle of Christmas Shopping Craig and I stumbled upon a new work jacket for me. My last one was stretched by the drycleaners. Incidentally? I cannot remember the last time I bought something in a size 8 because it fit better than the 10.

Sarah-Rose & Wilbur

Week Fifty

365 in 2009!

Sunday: Moving Books
Sunday
We finally moved all my books from Trinity to Park Place. Boxes and boxes of books.

Monday: Jeffrey Campbell 99
Monday
99 by Jeffrey Campbell, back ordered then delayed then posted to the old address, finally collected. I adore them.
I bought half a size too big but that allowed for insoles & heel grips which made them delightfully comfortable.

Tuesday: New Sheets & Magazine
Tuesday
New sheets, a magazine stolen (BORROWED) from my father, and bedside table. My bedroom looks like it belongs to a grown up. Very strange. Also? note the pile of books-to-read.

Wednesday: Peppermint Nailpolish
Wednesday
O.P.I. tries to tell me that this colour is Lime. I say it's Mint Green.

Thursday: Solar Night Light
Thursday
It is REALLY DARK up the hill. Very few streetlights. So I bought a solar powered light.

Friday: Manu Tattoo
Friday
Craig accompanied me to Manu Tattoo in Petone. I had Wilbur put on my arm and good LORD but it hurt.

Saturday: Creepy Santas
Saturday
Ahhh my creepy phallic Santas.
Craig and I hunted out our Christmas decorations and bought a real live Christmas tree, our first one as our own little family.
I like that we still have Firsts.

Week Forty-Nine

365 in 2009!

Sunday: an afternoon well spent. Sun & Poirot.
Sunday
I spent the afternoon lying in the sun and reading an old old Agatha Christie novel.

Monday: Sorceress set by M.A.C.
Monday
I went to Kirkcaldie and Stains to pick up a christmas present and came away with this eyeshadow set in Sorceress as well. Oops. But I adore it.

Tuesday: outfit for Wednesday
Tuesday
I try and set out my outfit for the next day when I get home from work.
I set out my newly repaired grey-peplum skirt, vintage rhinestone necklace, and slip-of-a-thing watch.

Wednesday: my 'books to read' pile.
Wednesday
My pile of books-to-read is becoming precarious.
BUT I just finished Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger and it was quite large so the situation is less dire.

Thursday: Xmas Present
Thursday
A christmas present arrived at home. I flicked through it (CAREFULLY! No spine creases!) and I may have to keep it for myself.

Friday: loved this one too!
Friday
I loved this quote too! I really like whoever it is that's choosing the quotes for Bennetts at the moment.

Saturday: Barbecue avec ma famille
Saturday
After a day of boring boring domestic stuff Craig and I went to my parents for a family barbecue and watching of Love Actually to kickstart the christmas spirit.

Next week will be even better - the third sister will be home (!), there is a tattoo appointment, and perhaps there will be christmas tree decorating. Perhaps.

First Sunburn of Summer. Sigh.
The first sunburn of summer.

Week Forty-Eight

365 in 2009!

Sunday: Rose outside Park Place. Exploring.
Sunday
I explored the steep little garden of Park Place. It was unexciting but the rose was pretty.

Monday: Bird Kitsch
Monday
Unpacking a little further. The area I have claimed to store my office type things is all pale colours and kitsch. Like this little metal bird.

Tuesday: No More Trains
Tuesday
Thanks to a free carpark at work, and the fact that there are two of us in the car, it is much cheaper for Craig and I to drive in to work and back. The only trouble is, sometimes the return journey is slow.

Wednesday: A bit too much Pink
Wednesday
My new gela-skins iPhone cover (using this photo from Paris) arrived and in addition to the pink headphones and pink handbag? it's all a bit much for me.

Thursday: Love the quote.
Thursday
I loved the quote outside Bennetts.

Friday: a bad-mood-day
Friday
A no-good-very-bad-mood kind of day. Called for overpriced faux-coffee and a cinnamon roll.

Saturday: Photo Editing
Saturday
Our new couch suite makes me feel positively tiny (but it is glorious and leather and was such a good deal) and I spent most of the day there (it was raining) editing photos. In order to catch up.

Sofas make me feel tiny

And just like that? I'm up to date with 365 in 2009.
Just in time for the end.
