Lorelai: Hey, do you know that if the entire population of China walked by, the line would never end because of the rate of population increase?
Luke: No, I didn't.
Lorelai: That's my list -- every Chinese person in the world.
Luke: Scary.
Lorelai: Scary.

So at Two Weeks To Go our lists of things to do seems never ending.
I know that eventually everything will get done ... or not get done ... either way the wedding is getting closer and really, that's the most important thing.

It's all the little details that have to be done now. The big things like the invitations, the guestlist (reverse those last two), the venue, the clothes, they are organised. The little things like flowers and makeup and cars and the cake-topper are still on our list.
Luckily Craig's currently on holiday ...

We ordered disposable cameras for the table. I placed the order with http://www.weddingshop.co.nz very late on the 27th, and they arrived yesterday - the 30th. Pretty great service! but anyway the most important thing was that it is one more thing off the list.

People at my work keep asking me "so, are you nervous yet?"
always the answer is no.

Today Craig and I met with Corinne, the wedding consultant at The Wellesley.
We discussed food options, ceremony set up, and all the niggly little things that were still outstanding.

Yesterday it seemed like such a Huge task. But now, looking back on it, we were prepared enough.
My parents came along also as they ask sensible questions that Craig and I forget to ask, such as "where are the bathrooms located relative to the reception room?" (answer : one and two floors up, thank goodness for elevators).

Now everything is pretty much organised. We'll next meet with Corinne at the rehearsal, on Friday the 13th. Yes that was well planned.

(I also picked up my wedding dress today!)

Last night Craig and I spoke to the guys who are going to be filming our wedding.
It was exciting - something else to cross off the list!
Plus they really sound like they know what they're doing.

By THEY I mean Chris and Rajeev.
It's going to be great. I have more than faith in them.

Hopefully we're also going to get a minute-or-two long 'sampler' to post here that you will be able to download!!

I think that it's really coming across that I've been at work for 7 hours. and it's 10 at night.

I posted the majority of our invitations today.
two months and one day to go.
Hopefully you'll come by in dribs and drabs to see what we're up to - besides freaking out about how much else we have to do!

Love Sonnet

I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.

Craig and I have our first meeting with (hopefully) our Celebrant on Thursday.
Is it strange that I'm nervous?
I don't think so.

It took most of a day for me to actually call her. First I said I would call at 9, then 9 became 11, 11 became 1, 1 became 3, and finally just after 3:30 I actually called.
She was very nice of course, laughed when I said "so uh, how do we do this? I've never done it before" which is a joke she's probably heard a million times.

I don't know if we have to bring anything to the meeting - does she expect us to know what we want said? Should we have vows written or something?
Would she want to know about wedding themes and things?
Is she going to laugh at us?

so, basically? I'm overthinking it.

Apparently they like the word Grand

The Ceremony and Reception

Sarah and Craig will be married at the historical Wellesley Hotel in Wellington City, The Wellesley is a heritage building, designed by William Gray Young in 1927. It is regarded as Wellington’s finest example of neo-Georgian architecture. Sarah fell in love with the building, and the giant bison head mounted in the downstairs wine bar area. She didn't really give Craig all that much choice, luckily it was the best that he'd seen recently as well.
The Ceremony itself will take place on the Grand Staircase at 4:30pm.

The following reception will be held upstairs in the Grand Dining room, they'll kick you out at midnight.

The Wedding Party

Sarah-Rose M - Bride
Petra L - Maid of Honour / Friend
Charlotte M - Bridesmaid / Sister
Jayne M - Bridesmaid / Sister

Craig B - Groom
Kieran D - Best Man / Freind
Simon B - Groomsman / Brother
Kieran B - Groomsman / Brother

you make me feel like i am whole again

We've decided on a song to have performed during the ceremony.

It took forever to decide.
I've always loved this song but I didn't think that it would really work with just a voice and a piano, and then I heard Tori Amos' version.
and it was perfect.

Lovesong - The Cure

Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I’m alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

It will be performed by my very talented friend Kat.
and I can't wait to hear it!
