Presented without comment

<3

An email from the inimitable Kat:

Oh! Btw, last night’s dream we were all on a cruise together and you had brought 5 Craig lookalikes on with you. I asked you why you needed 5 men and Craig just sighed and said, “I get tired.”
And there was a ceilidh on the boat.

Two of my favourite people ...

This is my iPhone wallpaper at the moment.

Sir C and Kat at her Au Revoir party. They think they look silly. I think they look drunk and adorable.

Plus, this way, when I check the time on my phone it looks like they're blowing me kisses.

Ringing in the New Year ...

It's not NYE without dancing to horrible awesome terrible hilarious music

The rest of the NYE photos (including the damage I did to my leg) are HERE!

P.s. It's only the second day of 2009 and I already have to break one of my resolutions.
Writing my rehearsal schedule into my newnew moleskine diary (terrifying!) and it turns out that on the 14th January I not only have work all day but rehearsal all night.
Looks like the 3rd Wedding Anniversary Celebrations (Leather! Crystal! Glass! or Tattoos) will have to be a little delayed.

Dia de los Muertos

Frida Kahlo Hair

Flowers in my hair

Ventricle Heart Necklace

My inspiration for the hair (ish) and the flowers and the shawl (not pictured) was this photo of Frida:

Frida Kahlo

But I also wanted to reference one of her paintings. So I created the necklace to resemble:

Frida Kahlo

I already had the ventricle heart necklace (yea yea. Whatever, it's awesome) and I just added 4 metres (yes) of red ribbon veins that ended in a little pair of scissors.

Yes. There were two of us dressed as Frida Kahlo. No, we hadn't discussed our costumes. It just happened.
The weird thing is that beneath the Frida? we're both called Sarah. That made it really confusing.

Becs has a great sense of humour

Becs as ... I'm not sure.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This is what I know ... for sure ...

Hiding - The EP Release

(psst. click on the image for the full poster. I totally took that photo of Kat.)

This weekend one of my most favourite-st people in the world is going to pour her heart and soul onto a stage and turn it into an entire concert-thing.

She has been working on her music for longer than I can remember and now has a sound reminiscent of Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan and yet wholly her own. Plus she's adorable. So you should totally come.

The $15 cover charge includes a copy of her EP (!) as well as a complimentary first drink and nibbles.
And we all know there's pretty much nothing I love more than Free Alcohol. Finger foods! are a close second though. So again, Come!

Kat McKenzie EP Launch
Sandwiches Bar, Cnr Majoribanks St & Kent Tce, Wellington
Doors open from 8pm, gig starts at 9:30pm
$15 entry (includes CD, first drink, and nibbles)

Also! I have been gainfully employed as Photographer for the gig which I am most excited about. I am however disappointed to note that I will not be wearing a Press Pass or anything of the sort. But! I will have a camera in my hand.

Also also I think one of the songs she'll be playing is The Middle which is the song she wrote as a wedding present for Craig and I. It's lovely.
And it can be heard here : http://myspace.com/katmckenzie

I. Have. Photos!!

On Saturday the 22nd July, Kat held a 1930s themed cocktail party.
It was the perfect excuse for us to show off our wonderful bartending skills, and to dress up!
For more from the night, just click on the photo above.

In Fact!
I have photos from May - July to share. Including a very few photos from our trip to Auckland.

They can be seen here ... again, just click on the photo.

And there are a few more photos in my Paintings section ...

Seriously, you just click on the photos!
