I uncovered 300 hidden photos in my flickr account.
Photos I set as private so they wouldn't be seen until I had posted them here (avec explanation) on this oh darling website.
Photos I then apparently promptly forgot about!

They date back to October 2007 and are from London, San Francisco, New Zealand, Hawaii, London, and back to New Zealand.
SO! Another weekly event (aren't you excited!?!) will be:

Louise Bourgeois & St Pauls

Maman by Louise Bourgeois

Maman by Louise Bourgeois above & Shibboleth by Doris Salcedo below.

Shibboleth at the Tate Modern

This didn't really help the pressure I feel right in the centre of my chest, just below my collarbone.
I burn, I pine, I perish. I'm feeling grim about the mouth and I need to visit the Tate Modern. I remember exactly the smell, the space in the Turbine Hall, the feeling of standing close to my favourite pieces, the Jackson Pollock and the Anish Kapoor.

But I push that feeling down and continue on. Carry on. Keep moving forward. Glancing backwards but not for too long.

Week Three

365 in 2009!

Last night ...
Sunday
The morning after the night before. Stamp from the concert (Metronomy & The Teenagers) but the stamp had the date for the Auckland concert on it.

Monday Lunch in the Park
Monday
The sun was out, the wind was low, I sat and had lunch in a park.

Tuesday: Poor Tiffany
Tuesday
One of the cats has a terrible eye infection. She was taken to the vet and chose our bed for her drugged out sickbed.

Tulle Underskirt
Wednesday
It was our wedding anniversary and I wore a pretty dress to celebrate.

Thursday: Leaving Work
Thursday
Leaving work. Another quiet week. Wearing a vintage bowtie as a bracelet. Carrying a bag that I bought in a moment of madness which now turns out to be a lifesaver because it fits my DSLR perfectly. No more carrying around the uuugly camera bag OR an oversized handbag.

Bunny on the Street
Friday
A bunny! on the street in Wellington.

Saturday: Celabratory Cupcake!!
Saturday
Celebrating our wedding anniversary with Cupcakes in the park in which we had our wedding photos taken.

If I have to dress like a boy for rehearsal (jeans, trainers, a shirt) then I'm going to accessorise with my pinkpink glasses & pinkpink ring.

More than being your Mrs.

iPhoneTiffany's Necklace

As spotted on Smitten and ... oh just so many places, is I love you more than Blank dot (blogspot dot) com.
Run by Paperwhite studio and avoiding the generic "I love you, like, a whole bunch" sentiments that are as dusty as the flavour of the candy hearts they embellish, they request suggestions and turn them into spiffy little stylised candy hearts, in highly non-pastel, non-red colours.

The sentiments run the gamut from touching to overt, from video games to high fashion, from humerous to serious. Perfect for the month before Valentine's Day.

In the spirit of my anniversary just past, and for your your amusement, some that I've selected just for Craig.
It's just a weird coincidence that they all seem to be purple!

Help us fill in the blank "i love you more than________" by sharing your own personal feelings. Abstract, funny or literal - the choice is yours.

We'll be collating and uploading them as we go along with the aim of producing a valentines day surprise. . .

My Suggestions

1, 576, 800 minutes …

December 2006, the office of STA Travel in Wellington.
Craig and I were booking our one way (sob) trip to London and had given our names. I was just getting used to my new surname.
The travel agent typed it all in then looked at us and said “Oh! Are you two brother & sister?”

Kisses

No.

Today Craig and I have been married for 3 years.
3 years of 1095 days or 1576800 minutes. Approximately 3000 I love yous. Seriously.

The traditional third anniversary present is meant to be Leather (dirty!) or Crystal, or Glass. We’re going for Tattoos*

I have written in the past that our love feels more like incest (ew), like conjoined twins, like some metaphysical certainty. More than just a boy and a girl who fell together.

I find it strange when, walking hand in hand, I catch a glimpse of our collective reflection or shadow. In my mind our heights are proximate.

in San Francisco
Sir C is 6”2 and I am 5”1.25

It’s not that Craig makes me feel especially tall, and I certainly don’t see him as being short.
It’s a very strange sensation but I guess after something like 3103 days (8.5 years) together, I am used to cranging my neck up at him, used to him stooping to pick me up.

Height Difference!

Sir C & I as a couple are an institution. As old as the hills. We are certainly about as old as the Millennium (almost! 15-07-00) and I find it hard to remember a time before him. BC. He is an essential part of my past (& present) and has known me since I was little more than an adolescent.
Though lord knows I was old enough then.
We have seen the world together. We have seen the world through each others’ eyes. We will always be part of each other’s histories. Which is why, our third anniversary present to each other will be matching tattoos*.

NYE

On Saturday, we will pack a picnic and escape to the cemetery where our wedding photos were taken. Just like our first anniversary. This one will be noted with more than water and a NYLON magazine in transit through LAX like our second anniversary.

*They’re booked for March. The designs are set. They’re not names or dates or initials or portraits. I will reveal all post-tattoo.

Camera Bag

While many in the ... blog-o-sphere (eesh) are going (understandably) mad for Poladroid, I am not. It is admittedly a super cute and easy to use application (though it makes me very sad about the death of polaroid) but I heard about a similar application for my iPhone which meant I could use it whenever & wherever I liked!

Elephant statue from Bangkok. Fauxlaroid-ed.

Basically the photo-editing smarties took the faux-laroid idea and ran with it.

From 1960s to Helga to Lolo (I'm guessing they didn't get copyright permission from Holga and Lomo!) to Cinema and plain old greyscale there are more options that one person needs.

I may have been a little obsessed and played with it every spare second I had for the first couple of days.

I like Camera Bag a lot.

It Is So Cute! And thankfully, the interface is very pared back and simple. Even the iPhone desktop icon doesn't bug me!

Camera Bag icon

Yes. I do have both Shakespeare and Classic novels on my home screen.

Camera Bag screenshot

One of the great things is that you don't have to just use the photos stored on your iPhone. The very first icon, the little camera, activates the iPhone camera within CameraBag so you can shoot and edit a photo within seconds. The middle icon is the little save to disk icon, and the one on the far right lets you select the photos you have synced to your phone (I have 1812 sync-ed) to edit, which is what I have been mainly doing.

Download it from your local itunes now*! and uhhh ... sorry if you don't have an iPhone.

IMG_0099

* I downloaded it through the itunes application store on my darling little Dracula (iPhone) and it was free, I then went to find it on the regular old iTunes and found that it costs £1.79. Bizarre! So try from the iPhone first.

It's always encouraging when ...

Your Wii Fit sounds incredulous.

Note: iPhone photo taken just after 5:00am. Hence the gloom. I was awake & exercising before the sun & birds.

He (She?) 's Back!

neckscarves

I'm not that bothered to be honest.
To each their own and an' harm it none and all that.

Unless of course neckscarves comes out from the shadows and actually tries to contact me. Then I will be contacting the Flickr police.

Oh and if I'd had such a problem becoming fetish fodder (Hi Mum!) then I shouldn't have been posting public photos to the world wide web. It isn't inhabited by eunuchs and kittens.
