Week Twenty-Four

Sunday
Craig has been gone too too long. Last Sunday he attacked the cat with cuddles. The cat was nonplussed.


Monday
Wellington needs more cupcake stores. This pecan-and-coffee cupcake from Tempt was most disappointing.


Tuesday
Sometimes I plan outfits in advance (nerd!) and sometimes I mark them down if I feel great while wearing them.
This was the latter.


Wednesday
Wellington Station.


Thursday
Shanghai red lipstick by Chanel
Also? note the absurdly small lipstick mark.


Friday
Empty House = Twirling.


Saturday
White flowers and flame orange leaves. I spent the day in bed staving off a cold.

Craig & I had just made the decisions about when to go to Auckland for my tattoo appointment.

Truth be told?
Craig is jetting off to Auckland tonight to drive around Rotorua with his father, brother, another shanghai-ed semi-mechanic, and all the mud and rain in Christendom and that means that I have had a little grey cloud over my head all day today.

I did, however, love my outfit today:

I very rarely wear strong lipstick (because of my absurdly small mouth) but today I wore Shanghai Red by Chanel and loveloveloved every second of it.
Perhaps it was the compliments?
Perhaps it was the Rose scent?
Perhaps red lipstick has magical powers?

p.s. also? when I think about what I heart today? all I can think of is the research I've been doing for my next tattoo!
p.p.s. I booked the appointment today. 28th August. I'm so so so excited.

We celebrated our last night in San Francisco all together with pizza by the slice and one last stop at Walgreens.

Sigh.

* Don't worry - it was essentially a staged photo. Or rather, a series of unfortunate coincidences (being cold, my caffeine addiction, a long day) which lead to this sad sad predicament.

Glasses glasses everywhere ...

Halfway through packing up our room, I looked over at the pile of sunglasses on my bookshelf and uh ... I thought I had two or three pairs. But no.
More like ten.
I don't really break sunglasses. Or maybe I do, but I have so many pairs to begin with that I don't notice.
No, that's unlikely. I would notice.

That being said ... my collection begins with a broken pair


I broke my sunglasses travelling through Thailand.
I coped for maybe two days? Until we reached the seaside town of Krabi and the sun and the sand and the glare? I lasted 2 minutes outside before I declared that we had to stop at the very first stall we came to in order to buy me a freaking pair of glasses.


So yes. Very fake Christian Dior sunglasses from Thailand.

Travelling to New Zealand while earning ££? I bought my first pair of fancy sunglasses.

In a store in New Zealand I found Ray-Ban style sunglasses with swallows instead of the little diamonds. Just like the Kate Moss for Topshop pair.

I have banned myself from buying any more sunglasses.
I need to break a couple of pairs first.


P.s. Not a single pair have my prescription in them. Which means they are useless unless I'm wearing my contacts. Oy. I might have to buy a pair of those.
P.p.s. I also seem to suit most styles of sunglasses. This frustrates my baby sister. I even had aviators at one stage.

Week Twenty-Three

Sunday
I threw Craig a surprise party. Pineapple Frujus are my go-to hangover cure.


Monday
A public holiday. Spent boxing up rooms so new carpet could be laid.


Tuesday
Leaving work late, near Wellington Train Station.


Wednesday
Sunrise from our offices. The days keep getting shorter.


Thursday
My gherkin obsession continues.


Friday
My last day with this amazing view. But also my last day with extra stress.


Saturday
Re-packing our room, I notice my african violet has been denuded.
Poor little plant.
